I was browsing through one of the magazines I have here at the studio and spotted these neat little labels.

How many times have you gone to a play date and everyone has the same sippy cups and nobody can remember whose cup is whose? Well with these labels by Inchbugs you can.

The Milford Oval

When was the last time you actually stopped and shopped at the Oval? There are so many wonderful business' there. The Milford Do-It Committee along with all the vendors there are really trying to "LIVEN" up the oval.

There are many activities that are currently going on or will be going on over the next few months. In the month of July there are concerts on Thursday afternoons. These have been really well attended. I have seen lots of people there enjoying the concerts. There will be two more concerts, you should stop by and check it out.

The vendors on the oval are also holding "market days" this summer. During the concerts, vendors are allowed to put some stuff outside, so stop by and check out what all the vendors have going on for them.

In August there will be a "Dog Daze Of Summer" event. I will be offering a session for you and your pet, with a 5x7, the cost of these little sessions are just a can of dog food (canned and Dry (no red dyes - preferably IAMS or Nutro). I will be taking all cans that are donated to the Bedford Animal Rescue League. This small donation will give you a picture to treasure and will help feed a homeless pet.

Happy birthday Toonie!

I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday. I was sitting in the room with your Mom who was so calm, if I didn't see the blips on the monitor I wouldn't have even known she was having a contraction.

Once labor really got going, we all got thrown out of the room. That actually was fine with me because I was pregnant with Matthew and was starting to second guess the whole delivery part. lol I figured I would just keep him in forever.

We didn't know if we were getting a new niece or nephew, we just knew that you were coming. We all sat in the waiting room, anxious, just waiting to see what you were going to be, who you were going to look like. We just wanted you here.

Then your dad came out to get us, and we all got to come in and meet you. You were so precious and tiny. I fell in love with you the second I saw you. It truly was love at first sight.

I am so proud to be your auntie, you have grown into such an amazing little girl. I hope you had a good day today and that being 11 is good to you!

Last time I posted a lighthouse image it was taken by a friend of mine. Well on Friday a friend of mine dragged me out to shoot for the day. I'm so glad I took her up on it.

We just got in the car and drove. We stopped in Portsmouth, NH and Portland, ME to take some pictures of the lighthouses.

The Studio Is Coming Along

Well things are moving nicely with the studio and I will be able to shoot sessions there any day now!! I'm so excited.....

We are hoping to have our grand opening on July 12th. There will be lots of prizes to win that day.

We will be giving away free sessions, portrait packages and accepting new senior models that day.

I'm getting ready to work on my window displays. Next month we'll be holding a contest, looking for your ideas for my window.

11 Years

Every year as this day comes around, I get to feeling a bit emotional. You see, 11 years ago today I said Goodbye to my Dad.

My Dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in April of 97. Since it's such an aggressive cancer, it took his life in just a few short months. As much as I didn't want to see my Dad go, it was better than watching him suffer through the pain.

Prior to my Dad's death, I was told that if I ever needed him, all I had to do was look to the lighthouse and there he would be. Ever since then, whenever I see a lighthouse, I feel like I am surrounded by my Dad. I feel some sense of security, calmness, I feel my Dad.

Well today when I was visiting a photography board that I visit, I saw a post from a friend of mine. Funny, out of all days to post, she posted her lighthouse images today. This image that she sent to me took my breath away.

So even though my Dad is no longer here in person, I can find peace in the fact that he is always near by.

Christy, thank you posting that image today. You helped put a smile back on my face.

Happy Father's Day

I hope that all you wonderful dad's out there had a great day.

We did, we took Scott to Mel's Funway Park in Litchfield, NH. We had a great time. We rode on Go-Karts, went mini golfing, played Lazer Tag, and also tried going through a Lazer Maze. Can I just tell you that I stink at the whole Lazer thing! lol The kids kicked my butt!

I'm going to share some pictures from our day. We had a blast and it was so nice to just let loose and run around and have a good time.

Growing Up

I don't know about you, but I'm having a hard time with the fact that my little girl is growing up. School is almost out for the summer and that means that when she goes back in August she'll be in 8th grade.

How the heck did that happen, I feel like I just signed her up for 1st grade the other day. How is my baby finishing up her last year at the Middle School. Oh my word, that means High School is going to be after that.

So just thought I'd share a picture of my "not so" little girl. She's growing up and she makes me proud.

Me & My Guy Dance

On Friday night I photographed the Me & My Guy Dance that was run by the Girl Scouts. It was such a great night.

All these little girls, dancing the night away with that Special Guy. Little ones were stepping on the shoes of their Guys and being twirled around the dance floor. It was truly one of the cutest things I have seen in a long time.

I was lucky enough to watch my own little girl dancing with her "Guy". It was such a magical night.

Celebrate with Me

Are you like me? Do you have that one person in your life that no matter what goes on, they are there for you?

When you're sad, they are sad? When you're glad, they are glad? They tell you just the way it is. You know they won't let you walk out of the house looking like something from a horror movie.

Well I have that someone. She wasn't always my best friend. As a matter of fact, I'm sure there have been more than one occasion that she would have preferred to donate a kidney than to hang out with me. Luckily for me, my mother made her play with me!

That person is my sister Jenn, and today I get to be proud of her. I get to celebrate for her, I get to congratulate her. I love that I can do this for her because she has always done so for me. (other than when she'd rather donate a kidney of course)

Jenn was offered a job today at a realtor's office. You see she studied, and studied, and studied some more. She took the realtor's test and passed!

Jenn I am so proud of you. I thank you for always being here for me. I have always looked up to you, and admired all that you have done.

I love you and am proud to call you my sister and my friend.

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mom's out there. I hope you're enjoying the day that is meant just for you!

I had a wonderful day. Slept in this morning, I don't think I even got out of bed until after 10am. Who can argue with that?

We went to The Cafe On The Oval for brunch. The food was delicious, i had an omelet and the kids and Scott got all sorts of goodies. We realized 2 hours after we left that Evan left his walrus' and his new Teddy Bear there. Unfortunately they were already closed so we have to get them tomorrow.

I'm home now, sitting here, relaxing, and enjoying my gorgeous Pandora bracelet that Scott and the kids bought me.

Lighting Workshop At My Studio

I am so excited to share that Lisa Zanchi is coming to my studio to do a lighting workshop. It's going to be a blast. Here is the information on the event......

Information: This workshop is for 10 people. We will learn the basics of studio lighting, everything from high key to low key. I'll teach the basics of exposure and how to use a light meter. We'll learn how to use 1-3 lights to accomplish depth and interest. Learn how to properly use a main/key light, hair light, and kicker/accent light. We'll also create several looks out of 1 background using light positioning. I'll also go over my post-processing at the end of the day.

School vacation is coming to and end

and boy am i happy....

We have had a few bouts of the stomach bug, and i'm sick and tired of sick and tired kids!

I had all sorts of plans in my head as to the wonderful, special week we were going to have. But with the bug and all the chaos it reaped in my house, we were confined to our home. So i was more than happy to sneak out and take the kids to see Iron Man at the movies tonight.

I know it's pg-13 and the kids I took were all 10 and under, we really enjoyed it and had a good night out. We had popcorn, crunch a munch, nachos and soda. Who could be unhappy with all of those snacks? (well technically the kids had all of that, but i did get to sample)

So no pictures with this post, just posting to post!

Hope you had a good week and I'll be posting some pictures of the studio progress tomorrow or Sunday.

I'm an Auntie Again

My step sister Marlo had my new baby niece yesterday. This little porkchop weighed in at 9 lbs. and 9 0zs.

Baby E was welcomed into this world by her two big sisters. They already love her so much. They did tell me that they will change the peepee diapers but the poopy ones are all Mom and Dad!

Walk For Kids

Yesterday was a great day. I attended the Boys and Girls Club Walk For Kids. This event was great. I know my kids had a wonderful time, along with everyone else that was there.

For each lap that was walked you earn a beaded necklace. I'm not sure who walked the most but I was surprised that some of these kids didn't topple over from the amount of beads they had acquired.

I believe the final total was almost 7,000.00 raised. You can't beat that!

Oh, and one more thing. Because this was done for the Boys and Girls Club, my lab is giving me a killer deal on prints.

Something I don't think you've ever seen here before....

A Picture of Me!

For years now I have been hiding behind the camera. I've always just claimed it was my love of photography. Truth is, I was just never happy with how I looked.

On February 5th, I had gastric bypass surgery. In the last 9 weeks, I have lost 50 pounds. As much as loosing the weight has been good for me, I realize how much I missed out on because of my fear of getting in front of the camera.

I realized it truly didn't matter what I weighed, it was about capturing the moments with my children. I am grateful that I took the photos that I did, but I regret not hopping in a few of them myself. I will make sure that regardless of how I look, what I am wearing, if my hair looks funny or if my butt looks big in those jeans, that I will live in the moment and join my children and husband for a family photo.

The images you see here were captured by a good friend of mine, Sarah Freel. Sarah is a photographer in Braintree, Massachusetts. We were joined by another great friend Jamie Zdziardski, who is a photographer in Bedford, New Hampshire.

We had a great night playing with the camera and capturing the moment. Sarah also captured this image of my girls and I. It was nice to get get with friends and get some images that I will treasure forever.

I am going to have this picture printed for both my girls and I.

Now I need to get myself in front of the camera again and get a nice picture of my boys and I.

I think as parents we are usually the ones with the camera. Take a moment and hand it off. Join the kids, your spouse, and your friends. Get in the picture and capture the moments!

It's been awhile

Since I picked up my camera last. At least 2 weeks have passed. That is so unlike me. No matter where I go, I usually have a camera in hand. Today my husband Scott and the kids went outside to launch a bottle rocket that Scott made with Matthew last weekend. I decided to pick up the camera and follow them outside and I am so glad I did. Ribbons For Jaiden

For anyone that is not aware of what happened, Jaiden had a terrible accident with a snow thrower. She is now spending time in Children's Hospital Boston and we all are praying for a speedy recovery for her.

Last night a prayer vigil was held at St.Patrick's Church for Jaiden. The turnout was amazing, so many people came together to pray for Jaiden and her family.

My 8yo daughter Olivia made ribbons for everyone to wear until Jaiden comes home. She passed them out at the vigil last night, but we quickly ran out of them. She is currently making more. That your not a turkey.

I'm just sitting here proofing orders and my dog starts barking like crazy. I wonder whay he's got going on so I look and see 14 turkeys running through my yard.

I hop outside to get a few quick snapshots, then the turkeys start crossing the street and all I can do is think of "why did the turkey cross the road?" I can only imagine what my neighbors were thinking watching me out in the rain taking pictures of wild turkeys.

Every now and then you hear a story that cracks you up and makes you think about some of the crazy things your own kids have done.

I'll share some stories of my own just so your not afraid to share...

The first story that comes to mind is the day I was on the phone getting directions to my sisters new house, and I hear this extremely loud *BABOOM* *BABOOM* *BABOOM*. I frantically run to the bathroom where the sound is coming from. As I enter the bathroom Matthew comes running by me, my head quickly turns from Matthew to this creaking sound I hear.

Turns out the creaking noise is the dryer door opening, with Sidney peaking out. Yep, that's right. Sidney took a ride in the dryer. I didn't know what to do or say, but I remember yelling and laughing all at once. lol

I was getting my little mans lunch ready for school this morning and happened too look out the back window and I saw this little one out back.

He came to visit and eat some of the apples that had fallen off the tree out back. I snuck out on the porch and snagged this pic of him.

Here is baby J. I got to meet him just 8 hours after his birth. What a treat that was for me. A fresh one, straight from the oven.

He really wanted to sleep the whole time I was with him, but I was a big meanie and played with him until he opened his eyes.

Big week at my house

I have some family images to share this week. My little guy lost his top front teeth. It is kind of funny to look at him and see his little pumpkin smile. I really can't help but laugh every time I look at him.

He had been waiting all day for jello so he could suck it through his teeth instead of actually opening his mouth to eat. lol

Tonight my little girl went with her Girl Scout Troop on a Halloween Trail. She had a great time and was able to dress up as a Monster Bride. Maybe I'm biased, but I think that she's the cutest little Monster Bride that I've ever seen!

Supposedly the cemetery we went to yesterday is haunted by many ghosts, but one in particular is the most famous and most often seen. Picture 3355 is her grave stone. Her ghost is usually seen as blue in front of the stone. There is no blue near the stone but there is a blue circle off to the left of the picture. Interestingly enough this was the only picture that had a blue tinted circle. The blue circles would only show up when Jake took the picture. They didn’t show in all the pictures he took but in a good number of them. They did not show at all in any pictures that Mark or I took. Picture 3400 is the one that freaked Jake out for a moment. However, he didn’t hesitate to continue taking pictures to try and get it in another picture. The light would not show up again, but the black shadow shows in two subsequent photos of the same spot. There was nothing (no bushes, head stone, person, etc) in the way to cast a shadow in that area. I don’t think it was the flash because pictures before and after those look fine. There was also nothing casting a reflection.

I shot a wedding this past weekend with Sarah Freel and Taslim Sidi. What a wonderful opportunity it was to shoot with those two.

Milford On Track

Here is a local organization that could use your help. The track is something that all of our children will use in one way or another. Whether it be a sports team they are participating or during physical education. Our children will use this and we should be finding a way to support them. It does not have to be a monetary donation, it can be a donation of your time, or an idea that you have that may help raise the funds that are needed.

This is a good cause, and one that could use YOUR help.

Keeping Milford on Track in being a healthy and safe place to live, learn and play.
The Milford Athletics Fundraising Committee was formed to help increase awareness of the importance to build adequate athletic facilities on the Milford High School campus, including the construction of a 400 meter track to be used by all Milford community members. The Committee was also formed to raise $200,000 in matching private dollars to support the construction of the track and purchase related facilities and equipment. We have an aggressive goal to raise this money in one year as it will directly affect the scope of the most basic facilities. There is a unique opportunity for supporters of this project to be recognized as contributors and to go down in history as supporting the health and wellbeing of ALL people in Milford, New Hampshire.

Holiday Appointments and Cards

Can you believe that the Holidays are coming so quickly? I know I can't!

November 18th will be our last holiday session in order to guarantee your cards and prints will arrive before the holidays.

This year I will be offering you exclusive rights to my cards. You won't have to worry about all of your friends sending the same card that you are.

In order to use the card exclusively you must order a min. of 48 cards. Once you choose your card I will mark it on the website at No Longer Available

I know there are far worse things in the world than a bad haircut, but when your 9 and you get a bowl cut, it's hard to imagine anything worse.

I forced my poor son to get a haircut yesterday. I just wanted him to get a trim. He found a cut he liked in the book at the "salon" (i am using that term lightly) and gave it to the stylist, or unstylist as I've come to call her.

I then brought him to Innovations in Nashua and Alyssa took wonderful care of him.

She sat with my son and showed him pictures and explained what would work and what would not. Here is how she ended up sending him home to me.

Yes I know how to spell days, but I really am in a Daze. All 4 of my children are in school fulltime. I cannot believe that this day is finally here, but it is and I am one happy Mom.
If you are trying to reach me today, I'm sorry, but i will not be available. I will be enjoying the day alone, no kids to tend to, and no fighting and arguing to referee!

My little man had tubes placed, and his tonsils and adnoids removed on Friday.

He was such a trooper and played video games until he passed out cold in the OR.

Daddy got to accompany him into the OR and he also got to wear these cool "scrubs"

By the time Daddy and I got to the recovery room, he was already eating a popsicle, and doing much better than we had expected.

So we are home now, and he improves daily. Still eating ice cream, jello, and pudding. I think he might be ready for "real" food but he may be pulling a fast one on us. lol

Trash The Dress

Also known as TTD sessions, have become the "In" thing for brides to do.

We are all so careful on our wedding day. Nobody wants to get dirt or grime on their dress, but what are you to do with the dress once the day is over?

TRASH THE DRESS OF COURSE

Well not literally, (well in some cases, maybe) but this gives you the opportunity to get some amazing images of you in your dress that you might have not been comfortable taking prior to your wedding or on your wedding day.

These images were taken at a workshop that I took. We had so much fun, and I learned so much. So if you are interested in getting some great shots of yourself in your wedding gown, give me a call!

You never know who you'll run into

A few months back my older 2 kids went to the Celtics game with my husband. As luck would have it, not only did they have amazing seats, they were sitting right behind JoJo.

So always keep your eyes open, you just never know who is going to be right in front of your eyes!

I had actually forgotten all about these images, but I guess I should send them off to my lab for printing.

My daughter's class hatched chicks over the past few weeks. It was a great learning experience for the kids and they really had tons of fun.

Each child got a chance to "Chick Sit" and last night was our night. We had lots of fun and just enjoyed playing with the chicks!
